The story which guo xing tells, about using live people and children’s heads as a sacrifice object, for building or bridges foundation, for warding off evil in preventing construction accidents is an urban legend in singapore and malaysia in the 80s. In that period some children in singapore disappear without a trace, some were never found or finding childrens body parts in rural areas. This legend coutinued on to the early 90s where anxious parents kept their young children indoors after 7pm. I was very young at that time, and I remember the news on TV constantly reporting about some missing children, and my siblings and friends were kept at home at all times after dark.
I don’t know if this old custom of burying live people and children’s heads as building foundation is true. But many adults were talking about it constantly in the 80s and early 90s. I was still too young to do any fact checking at that time. But missing children news on the TV were at its height at that time.
