As a Singaporean, in terms of dressing, I was quite surprised when she brought up Singapore as an example of a country where people are more open to wearing “lesser”. As for tank tops and spaghetti stripes, aside from “culture”, I think the weather plays a big part as well. And in other aspects of culture, I personally find Taiwan more open and less restrictive.
I apologize if what she said caused you emotional distress. As a Taiwanese living in Singapore, I don’t find what she said was accurate.
Frankly speaking, I don’t like the host at all. I think she’s too full of herself.
lol “emotional distress” you don’t have to apologise. I kind of get what you mean, sometimes I like her comments because they are rather insightful but sometimes it just feels a bit biased when it comes to certain topics. Perhaps it has got to do with her tone.. idk
I agree. I haven’t been to Singapore, so I can’t say much about what people wear there, but I’d think a better example would be North America (I live in Canada), especially with ample amount of examples from Western television. That being said, I feel like though people in North America dress “less” and show more skin, it’s usually in a more healthy way rather than trying to show sex appeal, which is usually the case when people dress less in most Asian countries, and that would have to do with social norms rather than what is actually being worn.
I don’t think it’s nice how the hosts were making fun of 可樂…he’s just trying to get a successful career as an idol!
The more they make fun of him, the more air time he gets though!
and i actually find him really cute by being teased by the hosts or else i won’t even pay attention on him
