There shouldn’t be too much bling bling going on with your jeans.  Unless you want people to look at your legs first.  The whole point of putting an outfit together is the cohesiveness.  After all, you want people to look at you first, not your jeans.  When buying a pair of jeans, pay attention especially to fit, that is, not too tight or too loose, watch out how the jeans balance to your upper body, and of course, always keep proportion in mind.  A pair of dark wash jeans is always a saft bet.  This is just my two cents.
