kpop is so popular and trendy now it is highly unlikely for a taiwanese pop idol group to come out right away and receive the same amount of popularity. Not to mention the intensive Korean idol-in-making formula (traniees, plastic surgery, etc) is very different. I think the best way to “recreate” an idol group in taiwan is to get the youngters in taiwan to actually like the group the management company produced. There are so many bashing and critizism on “copying kpop” from taiwanese because let’s get real here, korean music is what’s mainstream amoung the younger population in taiwan and when a new group came out out of no where people are obviously gonna question its concepts. They should start off with the basic stuff such as practice video of a member playing guitar, particular good-looking memeber’s dancing practice video footage, or even just a simple singing vocal video. Get people’s attention fisrt, keep them interested, then once they reached a certain amount of popularity take the boys/girls out on the tv screen. That’s how it should be done in my opinion.
Lollipop F did a pretty good job, they are very popular in Asia, and they have a style different from kpop. They even went to Korea to compete with Super Junior on the Korean TV Show “Star King”.
