    • I thought it sounded really stupid in Chinese, as if he had 8 different mothers/fathers who made him 😛

      It’s pretty funny that just some decades ago, people like 班傑 were mostly called 雜種, and now they are mostly called 混血兒 and for some reason “we” think that they are so much cooler than just be of one nationality/race. 

      Another funny thing is I have never heard 班傑 telling us that he’s actually part Taiwanese, we only hear about how he has a father who’s Italian, and he always says that he’s a 外國人. What’s so good being a foreigner? According to Wikipedia (which isn’t a 100 % correct source), his biological father is a Taiwanese, it’s his mother that’s of 7 different descents. Why never mention that a big part of him is Taiwanese? If he stayed in America, he’d probably never been as successful as he have become in Taiwan.

      Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against this guy, I just think it’s strange that many Asians actually like foreigners better than themselves, as if Asians are somehow inferior to Caucasians…

      • lol… yea yea… u impliedly refer 混血兒 with the offensive term 雜種 and u claim yourself have nothing to against him? as a mixed i feel offensive and not pleased about what you say. we are not dog’s breed and we dont care about what blood you actually mixing. In fact it is dumb ass to claim someone as pure blooded… unless you show it with your ‘blood cert’ like your pet. Remember love, dignity does not come with your physical appearance.

        • I think you missunderstood me, and there is no reason for you to resort to personal attacks. I simply pointed out it’s pretty funny how Asian people’s feel for persons of mixed blood have changed, as if bloodline is of any importance. So no, I don’t look down at people with mixed blood, nor those of “pure” blood. But you got on the defensive as soon as you saw the word 雜種. Which has to mean you probably have met lots of racists?

        • And I didn’t imply that 混血兒 are 雜種, I said people used to call those of mixed blood by the term 雜種 (which is a pretty sad thing to do), but now they are mostly calling them 混血兒 and love them above anything else, that’s why they get lots of TV-time in Taiwan, which I find pretty strange. So I find how people react to this race subject funny. But as I said, I don’t hate anyone based on race. If I really did, I’d simply just say it out loudly. I wouldn’t waste my time writing a long post trying to imply about it.
