I don’t think colloquial English is no longer preferred, even in Western civilisations. There was actually a study/research that majority of the English speaking countries are preferring/tending or more comfortable with/to speak more casual, daily English. Similar to Chinese, we no longer speak 古語/文言文. Just like Cantonese

i’m from cali…. and i use charley horse… in fact alot of people use it.
it’s beyond me why anyone would use a term like charley horse instead of the much simpler, more well-known, and COMMON word – “cramp”

I actuallly agree with your opinion that accent it’s not the biggest problem.
accent is not the biggest problem, but sometime it really confuse people. especially, when you have opportunity of hearing Indian accent, you will know how difficult it is……………
