6. this is 16:9 ratio, why the hell is there black bars. makes the video size so small. if like this, 4:3 ratio was better = =

   • Taiwan is still in the process of switching over to digital broadcast. Most households are still unable to receive HD broadcast. So TV shows are still shown in standard definition even when they are shot in HD. There are black bars because it has to converted to 4:3 ratio for SD broadcast. This video was recorded directly from Taiwanese TV. If you notice, the subtitles are superimposed over the bottom black bar. The black bars are part of the video image for SD, so the it is hard for the poster to get rid of them.
